Meet Lena

Lena Weisman is a community organizer and builder dedicated to serving the Commonwealth through listening, coalition development, and responsible leadership. As the Executive Director of the Gloucester Main Street, she led community development, historic preservation, and economic growth in rural Virginia for three nonprofits. Bringing together individuals from across Gloucester and the region through community driven events, advocacy, and support programs. With firsthand entrepreneurial experience in small business operations, marketing, and building lasting partnerships during my time at Mulay’s Sausage Corp, her family’s women-owned business. 

A graduate of UVA’s Sorensen Institute's 2025 Emerging Leader Program, who holds a Master of Science in Digital Society & Social Change from the University of Glasgow, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Lehigh University.  With a deep grassroots understanding of what Virginia’s communities need - she is dedicated to advocating for systems, policies, and innovative initiatives that support social and economic vitality, foster vibrant communities, and connect Virginians across the Commonwealth.
